The artwork "Prospettive in rosso" by Laura Alunni: a vertical, geometric wall sculpture of painted panels.

Prospettive in rosso
Outlook in the red

This work was born from a fever. A time when the world seemed to burn for me in a single color.

It wasn’t just a hue. It was a state of being, a kind of reckoning. I built the form to be vertical and absolute because I needed to give that urgency a body. I layered the geometric panels with its heat: smoldering crimsons, molten oranges, and the bruised purples that are the shadows living within any fire.

But a feeling this total defies containment. The jagged slash of textured Plexiglas is the work's defining event. It is the necessary rupture, the fracture that lets the light in. The moment of transformation.

I’ve had people tell me they see a deconstructed sunset, the violent last rays over the Tuscan hills. I see that too. But for me, it also holds the visceral tension of standing at a precipice, that strange, quiet moment where fear and clarity become one and the same.

It is not a passive piece. It holds the beautiful, terrible alchemy of creation itself. A testament to the fact that something new is often forged in the space where chaos and order, destruction and resilience, finally meet.
