Laura Alunni: Contemporary Artist

Italian contemporary abstract artist based in Umbria, Laura Alunni emerged in the 1980s with large-scale watercolors and, in 1998, a pivotal solo exhibition of oils and acrylics at Antognolla Castle.

In 2003 she studied with German master Mordmüller at Venice’s International School of Graphic Arts, deepening Renaissance techniques later fused with a contemporary abstract-expressionist sensibility. In 2010, art historian Leo Strozzieri drew parallels with the Futurist masters, consolidating her international presence.

Research & collaborations. Projects include painting on a live model for Eric Ceccarini’s The Painters Project (2018) and a commission from Chartesia Publishing for a visual reinterpretation of Dante’s Divine Comedy (2021). Recent work extends to a measured digital dimension, with select pieces accompanied by blockchain-based certificates.

Current practice. In the contemporary abstract art series Entropy, Alunni distills years of material experimentation into a poetic exploration of collapse, transformation, and the fragile beauty of impermanence.

Collections. Works held in private and public collections in Italy and abroad.
