Biography

Laura Alunni is an Italian artist based in Umbria. Her practice — spanning painting, mixed media, and works approaching sculptural form — is organised around a sustained investigation of matter as active agent: its capacity to accumulate, yield, fracture, and transform without loss of density.

Her current body of work, Entropy (2025–ongoing), brings this research to its sharpest concentration. Through surfaces shaped by erosion, tension, and controlled release, the works explore collapse not as endpoint but as generative force — the vulnerability of matter as both method and form.Earlier series Echoes of an Inner Atlas (2016–2020) and Lighting Events (2019–2023) established the vocabulary that Entropy now distils: layered surfaces, spatial instability, the tension between image and object, the unstable threshold between structure and dissolution.
